This series integrates physical yogic discipline and Tibetan Buddhist meditation practices.
We will practice meditative movement to unblock obstacles held in both the physical and subtle body and work through mental afflictions in our meditations to cultivate inner peace and equanimity.
Week 1 : Awaken the Teacher Within
A grounding asana sequence to ignite your kundalini energy from the root up. By grounding through our body we can more easily find equanimity in the mind.
In meditation we will call upon a ‘Teacher’ and meet with our Inner Guide.
Week 2: Love
A heart-opening asana sequence and LovingKindness meditation.
Week 3: Purification
A fiery asana sequence with a focus on twists to help purify the body, mind and spirit.
In the purification meditation practice, we will use Intelligent Regret to burn through lingering impurities and find the strength to ultimately forgive ourselves and others.
Week 4: Focus
Train your concentration skills with a Shamatha meditation and find equilibrium in the body by clearing the side channels using pranayama breathwork and play with balancing postures in the asana sequence.
Christina Ionno, Founder of Dakini Lounge, was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She settled in New York working as a fashion model in 2008 and has been calling it home ever since. She has been a yoga devotee for the last decade and decided to take the deep dive into the yogic arts in 2019 by completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Three Jewels NYC. She has recently graduated from the Three Jewels NYC 200-hour meditation teacher training program.
“My intention for Dakini Lounge is to continue to collaborate and build meaningful relationships with teachers, practitioners and brands who are rooted in wellness practice. My goal is to have a collective of individuals working under one space as a residency, learning and practicing amongst all walks of life. To spread our wealth of knowledge to the masses in the form of public and private events, pop-ups and collaborations.”
Christina is excited to share her knowledge of dharma wisdom, meditation and all things yoga to inspire others to reach their greatest potential for overall wellness and enlightenment. She has a Level 2 Reiki certification and looks forward to furthering her studies and providing fresh perspective to these ancient teachings.
