“You cannot change the truth, but the truth can change you.” – Buddha

The word karma has a negative connotation in western cultures, but the actual meaning of the word is quite complex. The understanding of the meaning of the word, and how karma works can open a whole new world of awareness. It shows us that our happiness, sadness, depression, joy, hatred etc. are OURS; it is our own consciousness that brings it to BEING. In this class we will explore karma as a way to deliberately reshape our experiences in the world.

Understanding how karma works inspire us to transform the perceptions we have of ourselves and the world. It reshapes our decision-making process, changes how we engage with others, facilitate our interactions with the world, and most importantly, it empowers us to create our own happiness.

We will use traditional Buddhist text:

Abhidharma-kosha, by Master Vasubandhu 350AD
