Four Acts of Self Care for Four Nights

with Dana Wills

4-week Series

5 May - 26 May

Wednesdays at 7:30 - 8:30pm CT

(time zone converter)

Join Dana for a series that puts you at the center of relaxation and rejuvenation.  We’ll do a bit of gentle asana to open our bodies for meditation, which will in turn open our minds for the main focus of the class, Yoga Nidra.  Yoga Nidra is the ancient yoga of sleep in which your body may well go to sleep as you are guided, but your conscious mind will still be very much at work.  Yoga Nidra incorporates soothing steps that light up the brain in a step-like fashion.  You can use Yoga Nidra to help with sleep and relaxation, or to recharge much like a power nap.

Bring all your props to your set up and prepare to be comfy and snug.  The ending time is intentionally after sunset so that after class you can continue with a relaxed evening, perhaps cozying up to a cup of tea or even your pillow for the night.

Richard Miller on Yoga Nidra in his 2005 book, Yoga Nidra: A Meditative Practice for Deep Relaxation and Healing, writes, “Yoga Nidra is a time-honored, reeducational process that teaches you how to blend profound relaxation with innate wisdom into every moment of your waking life…it is the deepest and most profound but very natural state of meditation.”

About Dana

Dana feels that meditation slows her down so that she can be more present and accepting of how things are. She dreams of a world where everyone can experience this.

She believes Mind Oasis offers a unique opportunity for people to not only experience meditation, but to be offered community and consistency so that it can actually change their lives.

Dana’s work and practice is teaching meditation. She also works at a tiny family owned retail business in the tiny mountain town of Buena Vista, Colorado. She’s between there and Divide, Colorado. Dana manages two short term rental homes in Austin and Buena Vista. She has a masters in Public Policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs, and is 500-hour yoga and 300-hour meditation teacher certified. Her early career was on the program side in non-profits. Dana loves the outdoors and has rafted raging rivers and trekked high in the mountains.
