You have probably heard of the three doshas: vata, pitta and kapha, and maybe even taken a quiz. But what do they really mean? And how can they help you come back into balance?

Ayurveda teaches us that we are our own healers. Through meditation, embodied practices and ancient vedic teachings on how to understand the world around us and in us, we will explore together our own wisdom to help bring us back into our natural state of being with simple practices.

In this class, we will begin to:

  • Understand what Ayurveda is.

  • Discuss Ayurveda through the lens of Sankhya’s philosophy: the journey of consciousness to matter.

  • Dive into the qualities of the five great elements (ether, air, fire, water and earth) and see how they manifest in our bodies, minds, emotions, seasons, food, environment, lifestyle, relationships and basically everywhere!

  • Apply our understanding of the elements to bring awareness to the experience of our body, mind and heart.

  • Discover simple Ayurvedic practices to tune yourself into harmony with your natural state of being.

To prepare for the class, please attend from a clear space (with an open mind) and have a journal and pen with you.

If you cannot make it live (or wish to revisit the material), a recording will be made available about 48 hours after the session. Live attendance is preferred on Mind Oasis and is part of what we call our special sauce!

About Caitlin

Imported to Austin from Philadelphia, Caitlin McIntosh had her first experience with Yoga in 2011. That year marked the beginning of her forever exploration of her cosmic pull Home. In 2012, Caitlin became a certified 200-hour E-YTR yoga instructor. After two years of practicing iRest Yoga Nidra®, a meditative technique adapted by Richard C. Miller, she completed her level 1 teacher training in August 2016. Caitlin completed a 300-hour meditation teacher training with Kelly Lindsey, Dakini Meditative in June 2017. All of her studies are underlined with her continued deepening of her studies and practice of philosophy of yoga and meditation as well as Tibetan Buddhism with her Teacher.

In September 2021, Caitlin followed her heart, transitioning from her career as a creative director, to study Ayurveda with Dr. Lad in full time New Mexico. Weaving in her foundational practices and love for nourishing people, Ayurveda is a pathway for her to come into her inner knowing and be able to share this ancient wisdom of coming Home with others.
